Unrailed 2: Back on Track – Tips for Beating Each Boss

This guide aims to provide strategies for dealing with each boss effectively.

How to Beat Every Boss

1. Monorail Meadows: Mole Chief

The Mole Chief can be a formidable opponent, but with the right approach, you can turn the tide in your favor. Here are some tips:

  • Utilize Dynamite: When the Mole Chief throws dynamite, pick it up and place it next to trees or iron deposits to gather resources efficiently.
  • Water Bucket Strategy: Instead of using tools to clear mole hills, use your water bucket. This method is more effective and allows you to manage resources better.
  • Milk the Deer: Standing close to a deer with a bucket for a moment will allow you to milk it, yielding 5 temporary Brute Force cartridges. You can also share this effect with teammates.

2. Boxcar Bayou: Spiderqueen

The Spiderqueen presents unique challenges that require careful maneuvering:

  • Stop Moving: When the warning note appears above your head, stop immediately to avoid getting webbed. If you move before the note appears, the boss will remain stationary.
  • Clear Webs: Use your tools to eliminate webs that obstruct train tracks or your water bucket. If you get webbed without holding a tool, dash to escape the cocoon.
  • Torch Cartridge: This item is particularly effective against the Spiderqueen, especially if your teammates are frequently ensnared.

3. Cargo Canyon: Sandworm Supervisor

The Sandworm Supervisor’s attacks are predetermined, so planning ahead is crucial:

  • Rail Placement: Avoid placing rails too far ahead at the start of the boss fight to prevent softlocking your team. Have a teammate scout for unstable ground that the boss will destroy.
  • Milk the Alligator: In this biome, you can milk the alligator for 5 Stacking cartridges, which can be invaluable during the fight.

4. Island Interchange: Octoboss

The Octoboss requires immediate attention to prevent flooding:

  • Tentacle Management: Ensure at least one teammate focuses on eliminating the tentacles using tools or torpedoes. Neglecting this will result in the map flooding with water.
  • Resource Management: Wood is scarce during this fight, so stack it effectively before engaging the boss.

5. Boiler Badlands: Torpeboss

The Torpeboss demands speed and agility:

  • Rapid Rail Placement: Quickly lay down rails ahead of the train to avoid being blocked. Use your water bucket to create obsidian from lava, allowing for further rail placement.
  • Torpedo Dodging: This aspect relies heavily on player skill. If dodging isn’t your strong suit, consider using respawn and double dash cartridges before the boss appears.
