Are you looking to enhance your gaming experience with Life is Strange: Double Exposure by optimizing it for widescreen displays? This guide will cover you.
Steps to Fix this Issue
Step 1: Download and Install a Hex Editor Program
The first step in our journey is to download and install a Hex Editor program. HxD is a reliable choice that serves our purpose well. You can download it from the following link:
Step 2: Open the Executable
Once you have your Hex Editor ready, launch the program and navigate to the game’s executable file. The path to the file is as follows:
...\Steam\steamapps\common\LifeIsStrangeDoubleExposure\Chronos\Binaries\Win64\Chronos-Win64-Shipping.exe
Step 3: Search and Replace Hex Values
With the executable open in your Hex Editor, it’s time to search and replace specific hex values to match your screen resolution. Use the following guide to find and replace the correct values:
- Search for:
3B 8E E3 3F
- Replace with one of these values based on your resolution:
8E E3 18 40
for 3440×144000 00 A0 3F
for 1280×1024CD CC CC 3F
for 1440×90026 B4 17 40
for 2560×108039 8E 63 40
for 3840×10809A 99 19 40
for 3840×160000 00 A0 3F
for 4120×102439 8E 63 40
for 5160×1440AE 47 A1 40
for 5292×1050AB AA AA 40
for 7680×1440
Ensure that all nine entries are replaced correctly.
Step 4: Disclaimer
Please be aware that this fix does not affect the main menu and cinematics. Widescreen support will only be active once you gain control of the character Max. It’s important to note that native widescreen support may not be included in the game.
[Option] Step 5: Restoring Original Settings
If you encounter any issues or wish to revert to the original settings, you can do so by verifying the integrity of your game files. Right-click the game in your Steam library, select Properties, then Installed Files, and finally Verify Integrity of Game Files.
